Hello all,
Welcome to the start of week number two. As the week begins some of the routines that will come up daily or weekly will start to be introduced. I would like to inform you about just two of these today, GoNoodle and Class Dojo.
GoNoodle is a website that helps us keep track of our physical activity and it provides an excellent resource to keep our bodies moving throughout the day. It is a long day in third grade and students need time and and outlet to move. GoNoodle lets the class pick a monster to improve through activity. The website contains many videos to have the students follow and participate. The students learn how to throw a shot put, do a triple jump, or run the hurdles. The website also contains a whole section on concentration activities such as yoga. (ask them how difficult it is to perform the dancing bear) The website also includes activities to help them relax with breathing exercises.
The students in Mr. Albert’s third grade have been using a program to help improve their effort in class. This program is called Class Dojo, and it is a program that awards students when they are on task, helping others, or generally doing the right thing. They earn points and are working towards earning belts for their progress. The program allows the students to pick and modify their own monster avatar and keep track of their progress at home. The program also sends home weekly reports on how the students are doing and what type of points they have earned. The program can be downloaded onto a mobile device and can be used in the hall, at assemblies, even on field trips.
As a class we need supplies to help us stay healthy. If you could send in any of these much needed supplies it would be appreciated.
